The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas Nevada, CES is expected to be dominated again by handheld devices like Apple Computer's new iPods, iPhones, the iPod touch, Verizon, Sony Corporation, Motorola's do everything cell phone and electronics media devices by all the other players. In a market dominated by the wealthiest companies on earth! Everthing keeps getting smaller and faster and is it really making our life any easier? I think so and maybe not too, just spend a little more time with your new hand held toy, learn how to use it and maybe you can become a more efficient human robot!

It’s the remarkable result of a pairing made in musical heaven (read; Laurel Canyon) – engineering genius Vince De Franco and Tool drummer Danny Carey.   In its original incarnation, the Mandala electronic drumpad was a niche (some would say “cult”) product aimed at professional musicians, powered by a dedicated controller and equipped with a $1,000 price tag.
 
That was then.  New for 2009, Mandala 2.0 is computer peripheral, linked to a PC or a Mac through a USB port -- and available at a third the price of its predecessor.
